Seeing breast cancer before it forms.

DatChem-Breast non-invasively predicts the risk of an asymptomatic woman developing breast cancer, identifying tissue in transition up to a decade ahead of current imaging.

The biology

Detecting tissue in transition.

Long before a tumour forms, or becomes visible to imaging or palpable to the hand, the chemistry of breast tissue begins to change.

DatChem-Breast reads that chemical signature directly from a standard MRI, identifying breast tissue in transition toward a cancer. It is a window on disease as it begins, not after it has formed.

  • Non-invasive. No biopsy, no contrast, just chemistry, from a routine scan.
  • Asymptomatic risk. Designed for women before any sign or symptom appears.
  • A decade of warning. Identification up to ten years ahead of current methods.
Market disruption

The journey of a developing cancer.

Atypical ductal hyperplasia carries progressive genetic aberrations, and they are reflected independently in the tissue chemistry, long before a tumour forms. DatChem-Breast reads that chemistry and identifies the stages prior to a cancer developing.

Normal breast

Orderly, healthy tissue

Hyperplasia

Genetic aberrations begin

Carcinoma in situ

Contained, pre-invasive

Invasive cancer

Spreads into nearby tissue

DatChem-Breast detects here Tissue in transition, identified before an invasive cancer forms.
Mammogram & MRI Identify cancer only after it has formed.

Identifying when a cancer is imminent, enabling intervention before it becomes life threatening, not after.

For women

What earlier knowledge makes possible.

Time to act

Earlier evaluation of treatment options, while there is still room to make considered decisions.

Her own control

Serial scanning makes risk personal, not statistical, each woman is measured against herself.

Empowered choice

Clear, objective information equips the woman to make the decisions that suit her.

How it works

From scan to report, on existing scanners.

DatChem-Breast adds a short sequence to a standard 3T MRI, no new hardware, with results returned to the physician in minutes.

1

Patient scan

A 15-minute scan in a 3T MRI captures the raw spectral data, no contrast, no biopsy.

2

Data capture

Raw data is transmitted securely from the scanner to the DatChem cloud, region by region.

3

Data processing

The chemical signature is extracted and compared against our exclusive databases.

4

Physician report

A report informs the statistical likelihood of disease and the treatment options.

DatChem-Breast is compatible and adaptable with other leading MRI platforms, including Philips and GE.

Clinical evidence

The longitudinal breast study, 2012–2024.

A pivotal validation study underpinning FDA, TGA and EMA regulatory approval, with each woman serving as her own control across repeat scans.

High-risk cohort · including BRCA carriers

In the high-risk category, 32 of 33 cancers were correctly predicted, all on the very first scan.

0/33
cancers predicted 1–12 years before current imaging
0
high-risk women evaluated, against 100 healthy controls
0/100
controls flagged to develop cancer, 2 already histologically confirmed
0+
women identified in the transitional state and now monitored
Centres: Adelaide · Brisbane · Barcelona · Newcastle Design: each woman her own control · up to 8 repeat scans

DatChem's technologies are undergoing regulatory evaluation (TGA, FDA and EMA) and are not yet approved for routine clinical use in all markets.
